Introduction
After submitting the initial Order or Change Order, you can convert CAPEX into HWaaS or transfer HWaaS directly within the Order Confirmation process.
Convert CAPEX devices into HWaaS
Use Case: You have an existing customer and want to assign CAPEX devices to customer PBX with the option to convert to an OPEX model.
To convert CAPEX into HWaaS, you need to order new HWaaS devices by following Change Order procedure (see Change Order section of the document Salesforce Partner Community Guide). See the detailed instructions below.
Important: If you want to use CAPEX devices (e.g. from your storck) for a new customer with the option to convert them to OPEX model, please create a Business Plan Project rather than Change Order request (step 1 of this instruction). Further steps remain the same.
Step 1: Create Change Order for the existing customer
2. Choose the necessary Account Name and click Next:
3. A new project is automatically created, with "Change Order" added to the project title:
Step 2: After the Change Order project is created, navigate to Quote to order the HWaaS devices
1. Click Create Quote on the Project page
2. In Additional Configuration field, select Additional Items:
3. Fill out Additional Items section:
4. Click Submit Proposal and sign the quotation with a customer or skip it by moving the quote to the Accepted stage in Salesforce Partner Community:
Step 3: Convert CAPEX to HWaaS during Order Confirmation
Navigate to the Order, click Confirm Order and go through the Order Confirmation process. On the 2nd screen, the devices section appears:
Unselect devices that should not be ordered from Wildix. By unselecting OPEX devices, you may utilize the "CAPEX to OPEX Conversion" or "Transfer OPEX" features.
When you unselect devices that should not be ordered from Wildix, a table with devices appears below, where you have the following options:
- To convert an existing CAPEX device to OPEX, you need to select the CAPEX device(s) from the table. The system will convert the devices to OPEX automatically.
- To transfer an existing OPEX device to a new customer, select device(s) from the table and the system will transfer the selected devices to the current customer.
In the example on the screenshot below, we've unselected WorkForce and selected 4 WorkForce devices in the table below, which will be automatically converted to OPEX and assigned to the PBX:
Note: The “Convert CAPEX to HWaaS” option can be used in the following cases:
convert CAPEX that is currently assigned to the existing customer
convert CAPEX that is currently in Partner stock
Step 4: Proceed with Order Confirmation
After the Order is confirmed, the process is the following:
Credit note (CN) is issued for the selected devices within 5 business days. You can check the CN calculation logic in the Customer Care FAQ
The billing cycle is synced with PBX licenses (-1m/ -1y / -5y)
HWaaS subscription is kept for 6 months starting from the conversion date
