Note

Wizyconf is distinguished by updates from 3 different branches:

  1. Wizyconf app via Chromium OS (automatic upgrade). The system checks for updates once an hour. If there is a new version, it is downloaded and installed upon the next start. To upgrade:
    1. Power the device off/on by pressing Power button on Wizyconf Core or put it into a standby mode by pressing Power On/ Off button on Remote Control
    2. To check the App version, press Home button on a keyboard -> go to Wizyconf Settings menu (Google chrome icon)-> click on Main menu (three lines) -> select About Chromium OS (a mouse and a keyboard are required)
  2. WMS interface (manual upgrade). To upgrade:
    1. Upgrade WMS to the latest version from rel50/ rel50beta repositories
  3. Conference server: no need to upgrade, the changes are available right away

[WMS-11165] - wizy: added possibility to provide/ request remote control during screen sharing in video conferences

Notes:

  • Remote control is available only if users have WIService version 3.10.4 or higher
  • WIService should be run on the side of the user whose laptop is being controlled
  • To run Remote control, user should share Entire screen or Window
  • If the original screen shared is removed from the screen (e.g. if another user started screen sharing), remote control is disabled till the original screen is back 

Limitations:

  • Remote control of screen shared tab is not supported
  • Firefox browser is not supported

  • Added some new functionality on Wizywebinar tab in Collaboration -> Recordings -> Edit recording section:

    • possibility to password-protect a recording

      Note: Downloadable link is not password protected

  • Made it possible to download a file with recording statistics which shows how often and extensively the recordings were played.

  • Added an option to protect sessions with end-to-end encryption (E2EE), which ensures that both audio and video streams, including screen share, are not being read or secretly modified by anyone other than the actual senders and their recipients.
    Notes: 
    • The feature is available upon request only. The request should be sent to denis.popov@wildix.com.
    • E2EE is not compatible with Recordings, Live Streaming. E2EE is also not compatible with mobile - mobile users won't be able to join encrypted sessions.

  • Added possibility to input ampersands (&) in First Name and Last Name fields when inviting participants to a meeting. 

  • Renamed Bookmarks into Download Bookmarks button in Recordings -> Edit recording section for more clarity.

  • Updated German translations.
