Requirements:

  • Min. supported version from which upgrade is possible: 5.04.20220819.1 (https://www.wildix.com/new-releases-and-updates/)

  • To be able to upgrade from WMS 5 to WMS 6 in case of WMS Network, WMS Network has to be configured correctly, matching the licences ordered on the Wildix Management Portal.

  • Starting from WMS 6.05, in case of Hardware or Virtual PBX, it is necessary to grant access for the PBX to the hosts wps.wildix.com and firmwares-cdn.wildix.com via port 443. For Cloud PBX no changes are needed. This is required in the view of the new logic of firmware upgrade of WP phones and gateways (WMS-18357).

API admin user authentication:

Important: in case of wrong WMS Network configuration, upgrade to the next major WMS version is blocked in oder to avoid issues with calls. 

To be able to upgrade to the next major WMS version, e.g. from WMS 5 to WMS 6, WMS Network has to be configured correctly, matching the licences ordered in Salesforce Partner Community

Note: PBX can still upgrade within the same major WMS version

Important: The w-smtp.wildix.com service reaches End of Life on May 1, 2026. All systems using the service, need to be reconfigured by May 1, 2026. See details in the documentation: SMTP Service Going End of Life: Instructions for System Configuration.

Note: Automatic upgrades are performed from the repository used for manual upgrade. Weekly automatic upgrade is enabled by default. 

Note: Starting from March 02, WMS 6.10.20260122.1 upgrade becomes gradually available in different countries/ regions, according to the schedule below:

  • March 02: upgrade available for the PBXs related* to the Estonia, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, India, Australia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain

  • March 04: United States, Canada, Latin America

  • March 06: the UK

  • March 07 (at night): weekly auto-upgrade available for all the countries listed above 

  • March 09: France, Belgium

How-to:
Add the following parameter to the [wildixp5] section of the /rw2/etc/provision.conf file:
DisablePreDial = yes

By default, DisablePreDial is set to “no”. When Pre-dial is deactivated (DisablePreDial parameter set to “yes”), user can dial a number and automatically be connected, e.g. using the loudspeaker, without pressing additional buttons before or after the dialling.  

[WMS-24611] - sys: added possibility to disable SDES-SRTP on WP 5 phones How-to:

  1. Edit the file /rw2/etc/provision.conf by adding the following parameters:
    [wildixp5]
    SRTPForceUse=no

  2. Edit the file /etc/kamailio/cfg.d/host_specific_custom.cfg by adding the following parameters:
    modparam("pv", "varset", "device_caps_sdes_srtp=s:(Wildix-WXQA) | (Wildix WP4[8|9]0GR[3|4])")

  3. Restart kamailio by running the command:
    systemctl restart kamailio

  4. Send the new configuration to devices via Configure / Sync device option in WMS -> Devices.

[WMS-23082] - x-hop: fixed a rare issue in which headset was not added to the broadcast automatically and it couldn’t be resolved by placing the headset on the charger and picking it up again

To authenticate, admins must obtain a one-time password (OTP). It can be obtained via:

  • WMP (access via SFPC or directly): go to Customers -> select the specific Company -> under Pbxes, click on the lock icon and copy a code

  • QR code scanning with any compatible authenticator app: go to WMS Settings -> PBX -> Security -> under Admin Two-Factor Authentication, click Show QR code -> scan the QR code using an authenticator app

  • In case a user has already logged in to a headset and tries to use another one, the login attempt is denied and the following audio message is played: "Sorry, there is another headset assigned to you, two headsets cannot be used at the same time."

  • To set a custom message, add the below variable to WMS -> Dialplan -> General Settings -> “Set dialplan variables” field:

[WMS-22359] - dev: improved the logic to ensure Bluetooth is no longer turned off on ForcePro 5, WorkForce 5 and WelcomeConsole 5 after check sync/ provisioning 

[WMS-22387] - col: made UI/UX improvements by adding notifications in case of network problems during a call so that user is informed of the issue   

[WMS-22437] - dev: new W-AIR firmware v.750b101 (Base stations), v. 750b100 (handsets and headsets) which include some fixes and improvements:

  • Fixed an issue in which W-AIR headsets continued to blink green when fully charged

  • Resolve an issue in which W-AIR Base Sync Plus didn’t accept passwords in some cases (e.g. if the password had 2 sequential characters)

  • Fixed an issue when DND and Call Forward indications were not displayed on the handset display after upgrade to firmware v. 730b100

  • Fixed an occasional issue in which it wasn’t possible to access Central Directory on handsets registered to some Base stations unless the Base station was rebooted 

Note: Also, disabled automatic update of W-AIR devices on PBXs with x-hoppers license, adding the logic of a separate update of W-AIR devices used in x-hoppers systems. 

[WMS-22468] - fxo: added possibility to enable pulse dialling mode for FXO analog phone lines, which covers the rare case when it is necessary to use pulse dialling instead of the default DTMF mode 

How-to:

  • Add the following parameter to the /rw2/etc/provision.conf file, [wildixfxo3] section (applied both for r3 and r4 devices):
    FXOPulseDial={"MAC_address_of_device_1": "pulse","MAC_address_of_device_2": "pulse_before_dtmf"}

  • If you need to enable pulse dialling on all FXO devices, you can use the value “all”:
    FXOPulseDial={"all": "pulse"}

[WMS-22492] - x-hop: added possibility to allow W-PA 2 Public Announcer to send notifications to x-hoppers broadcast

How-to:

  1. Access the following file via SSH as root
    /etc/systemd/system/pbx-data-engine.service.d/override.conf

  2. Add “Wildix W-PA2” at the end of the following line:

[WMS-22685] - wms: added notification which is displayed in WMS when trying to upgrade from WMS 6 to WMS 7

  • The notification includes a link to the document WMS 7 Significant Changes which outlines functionality that will no longer be supported in WMS 7.

  • Admin should read the document, enable the checkbox “I acknowledge the changes and accept the upgrade to WMS 7” and click Confirm on the notification to proceed with the upgrade.

[WMS-22677] - sys: updated TURN server logic, so that local IP addresses are included in the TURN server’s allowed list, to avoid a rare issue when there was no media during a call in Collaboration on Hardware / Virtual PBX after update to WMS 6.08.20241029.2

[WMS-21744] - wms: fixed an issue in case of using Collaboration Native app within Citrix as a web phone, in which audio settings were set to default after logging out and logging back in to Citrix 

  • Note: For the fix to be applied, after the upgrade users need to go to Collaboration Settings -> Web Phone -> choose the necessary device for Speakers / Ringing / Microphone options and click Save.

  • WMS looks now depends on the licenses on the PBX, e.g. green login screen and x-hoppers logo in case of a PBX with x-hoppers licenses.

  • The logo at the top of WMS interface (above Users tab) matches the product used.

  • Renamed x-hoppers tab into Broadcasts.

  • In case custom Company logo is used, it is displayed on the login screen and at the top of WMS interface and product logo is moved to the footer. 

[WMS-21476] - sys: for improved security, updated the logic of SIP block feature in WMS With the update, the SIP blocks feature bans not only SIP requests, but any requests from the banned IP address.

  • Any trusted IP addresses for reaching the PBX should be indicated in PBX -> Security -> Trusted IPs list.
