Overview
Wildix eSIM enables mobile connectivity fully integrated with Wildix Unified Communications ecosystem. With the eSIM, users can place and receive calls using their Wildix business identity, access PBX features, and enjoy seamless communication across Wildix platforms including Legacy Collaboration, Collaboration 7, x-bees, and x-hoppers.
Wildix eSIM operates over GSM networks with support for:
2G
3G
4G
LTE
5G
The displayed operator name appears as “Wildix”.
Key Benefits:
No physical SIM required
Works across major global GSM networks
Voice calls do not consume mobile data
PBX internal calls are unlimited and free
High compatibility with mobile devices prepared for eSIM
Each eSIM is linked to CLASSOUND DID and WMS user, allowing the user to make and receive business calls through PBX using their assigned number and extension. Only calls placed outside the PBX are billed as part of the CLASSOUND Flat Bundle. Calls within the PBX, including eSIM to eSIM and to other PBX devices, are unlimited.
Follow https://wildix.atlassian.net/wiki/x/BIBEeQ to check if your device is supported.
Data Packages
You can order the eSIM package with included 2 GB of mobile data. Extra data options will be introduced based on demand.
After consuming the initial 2 GB, mobile data speed will be reduced.
Wildix eSIM supports a data background feature that ensures mobile data connectivity remains available while a voice call is in progress.
Normally, during a voice call, background data can be used only by the SIM handling the call. To avoid losing internet connectivity, Wildix eSIM provides a feature that keeps background data active. For example, if a call is received on the Wildix eSIM without data while another SIM with a data plan is used for navigation, the navigation data remains active in the background. This feature is enabled even for packages with no data and does not generate additional costs. Fair Usage Policy applies.

PBX functions can be accessed via Feature Codes. For example, dial *1 to record a call
Only calls placed outside the PBX are billed as part of the CLASSOUND Flat Bundle. Calls within the PBX, including eSIM to eSIM and to other PBX devices, are unlimited.
Wildix eSIM uses the number format exactly as dialed by the user, either +E.164 or local format. Incoming and outgoing calls are routed by PBX according to the existing Dialplan rules, without any automatic number normalization.
For consistent routing, it is strongly recommended to configure CLASSOUND Dialplan to use the E.164 format for both internal and external calls.

Mapping number ranges
To prevent conflicts and ensure reliable call routing, it is highly recommended to avoid using extensions that are identical to local short codes or emergency service numbers. This includes numbers such as 911, 112, 113, 114, 115 and any other special service numbers in your region. Reassigning any conflicting extensions will prevent misdials and potential call routing failures.
The way Caller ID is displayed for eSIM users depends on who is making the call. Here's a breakdown of the different scenarios:
Scenario 1: Calls between eSIM users
When a call is made from one eSIM user to another, the displayed Caller ID depends on your PBX settings. It can be configured to show either:
The internal extension number
The DID number
Scenario 2: Calls from a non-eSIM user to an eSIM user
When a non-eSIM user calls an eSIM user, the internal extension of the caller appears as “unknown” by default. To ensure a valid number is displayed, you can implement one of the following solutions:
Solution | Description | Best for |
|---|---|---|
Single company number | All calls originating from the PBX display a single, unified number (e.g., the main company line). | Simplicity and brand consistency. This is the recommended default setting. |
Extension ranges | Assign a specific external number to a range of internal extensions. For example, all extensions in the 1000-1999 range (e.g., your sales department) can be configured to display a single sales department number. | Grouping departments or teams under a unified contact number. |
Mapping list | Create a detailed mapping list where each internal extension is explicitly linked to a unique external number. | Providing direct, individual lines for each user. |
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with eSIM activation, follow these steps:
Step 1. Check essential device settings
Check these settings in your phone's cellular menu to trigger the activation:
Enable Data Roaming: Go to Settings -> Cellular (iPhone) or Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks (Android) and turn Data Roaming ON for Wildix
Set Voice & Data to LTE: Ensure the network mode is set to LTE and VoLTE is enabled
APN Selection: Select MobileUC Access Point Name (APN)
Step 2. Check network handshake
Enable Airplane Mode: Turn Airplane Mode ON for 30 seconds, then turn it OFF. This forces the device to retry connecting to the local cell tower
Restart your device: A reboot often clears software glitches preventing the status from changing from “Installed” to “Active”
Manual network selection: If Automatic fails, go to Network Operators → disable Select automatically and manually select a supported local partner, e.g., AT&T or T-Mobile in the US)
