WMS 6.02 News

In WMS 6 we updated the kernel version of the system and its core components. This means state-of-the-art stability, reliability, and security for your systems, better and faster performance, more efficient use of CPU and resources, and many other improvements.

In this blog article, you will learn what’s new in the WMS version 6.02. In particular, we will talk about major UX/ UI updates of WMS GUI, Veesion integration with x-hoppers, new APIs, meeting scheduling in Outlook calendar, and much more. The full changelog is available by this link: https://wildix.atlassian.net/wiki/x/AQDIAw

Major UX/ UI updates of WMS GUI

The first thing that you notice after updating the PBX, is the brand-new WMS GUI:

  • The top menu moved to the left-hand sidebar (Users, Trunks, Devices, Dialplan, Settings menus)

  • The left-hand sidebar is collapsable/ expandable

  • Information on the current admin user is displayed at the top right-hand side of the screen (picture, role, name)

  • The WMS version is displayed at the bottom right-hand side of the screen

Other UX/ UI improvements include:

  • Improved visualization and rendering of certain pages and dialogs: Backups page, WMS network page (Virtual/ Hardware PBXs), Hotel integration page, Debug page, Generate call dialog

  • Updated design and modal windows on the Groups page (WMS -> Users)

  • Improved IP ban behavior and users registration check

  • Added a new engine (neural TTS) to the Sounds dialog

UX/ UI improvements of the Dialplan page

Finding the needed Dialplan rule or called number can be challenging when you have hundreds of DIDs.

With this release we add two new buttons to the Dialplan page: Expand all and Collapse all, allowing you to display or hide all the details of a certain Dialplan rule.

In addition to that, now you can add labels to your called numbers so that you can easier find and understand what those called numbers mean or whom they belong to.

Collaboration Mobile apps improvements

Auto-fill domain in case application installed from the welcome email

Onboarding new users becomes easier: from now on, when a user downloads the app following the link from the welcome email, the domain and extension fields are already filled out for them.

Note: Support starts from apps versions: Android 5.11, iOS 8.11

Forward certain calls to the native dialer

There are certain cases when we want to redirect certain outgoing calls to the native dialer, bypassing the PBX. For example, when calling emergency services.

In this version, we add a possibility for the system administrator to enable call forwarding for the specific called numbers to the native dialer. To enable this behavior, the system administrator needs to edit a custom config file on the PBX, listing the called numbers.

Prioritize the longest waiting calls on different queues

Imagine, you have an agent present in multiple queues. In case there are ringing calls in several queues, which one will be distributed to this agent? Before WMS 6.02, the distribution order in such cases was random. In WMS 6.02 we add a global Dialplan variable allowing the system administrator to control this behavior.

After enabling the new behavior the system will be checking the waiting time in all the queues before distributing the call. As a result, an agent present in multiple queues will get the longest waiting call.

Users import

Office 365

Microsoft 365 allows the usage of additional attributes for the mapping of fields. In WMS 6.02 we introduce the new field extensionAttribute1-15 that you can use to map custom attributes when importing fields.

Google

For Google, additional data can be imported using the new Custom_* field. We also added the possibility to sync language.

Security updates

SSL connection for sending CDR data to remote MySQL

In one of the recent releases, we added the possibility to use an external CDR backend for cloud PBXs for customers who wanted to keep their CDRs in-house.

With this update, we improve the security of connections to an external MySQL DB. SSL connection can be enabled via a custom config parameter. Read the documentation for more details: https://wildix.atlassian.net/wiki/x/Fh3OAQ

Create your own list of Trusted IPs

We introduce a new section in WMS - PBX - Security menu, allowing system administrators to create their own list of Trusted IPs. This is particularly useful in cases with large installations and big volumes of connection and reconnection requests coming from devices at the same time.

Now, in addition to our IP tables standard setup, you can create your own list of trusted IP addresses, so that our SIP proxy and/or iptables module will not block connection attempts. This gives you more flexibility and control over managing outbound connections to your systems.

Admin permissions ACLs

With this release, you can gain more control over what other system administrators are allowed to do in WMS.

Now you can restrict the ability to change the license type of users, using the new ACL “Can/Cannot” - "Change license type". An example when this permission could be useful, is unexpected charges due to license upgrades performed by one of the system administrators for certain users on the PBX.

Remember to combine this restriction with another ACL that was already there - “Can/Cannot” - "Add and remove users". Using both of them gives you the level of control you should have.

New APIs

We keep working on our promise to add APIs to cover all the WMS functionalities. With this release, we deliver the following updates:

  • new API backups

  • Extended AclGroups API to update admin permissions

  • Extended API which returns the config for mobile apps

  • New API that enables setting presence and status messages for multiple users

Other WMS updates

Audio quality 🎼

Historically, g729 was set as the number one priority for codecs, for one simple reason – it saves bandwidth. Nowadays, cutting bandwidth is no longer a concern for most customers. This is why we’re updating the default priority for codecs in the SIP trunk configuration dialog: g711 which provides superior audio quality goes first, g729 is moved to the end of the list.

The new trunk priority is effective for newly created trunks, or after re-saving an existing trunk’s settings.

SMS from Collaboration 💬

With this release we improve the behavior of the “Standard SMS header”, which is set in the WMS - Fax/ SMS Server page.

Now if set, it is appended to the SMS body. If not set, the sender’s full name is used for this purpose.

We also increased the maximum length for SMS sent from Collaboration to 670 characters.

Localization 🌎

Here are some localization updates, primarily for our customers in Spain and France:

  • Catalan added to the list of supported languages in the Collaboration user interface

  • Released Basque language sound packages

  • Basque language available on Start, WorkForce and WelcomeConsole desk phones

Integrations - create meetings in the Outlook calendar

It becomes very fast and easy for Outlook users to schedule Wildix meetings, directly in their Outlook calendars. With this version, we add a big visible button to the Outlook calendar, enabling users to create meetings with Wizyconf links in them. The meeting created in Outlook can be found if you open the list of your upcoming conferences in Collaboration.

Integrations - Veesion integration with x-hoppers

Earlier this month Wildix announced their exclusive, five-year partnership with Veesion – the company develops AI systems focused on detecting theft at the shop floor level with its innovative use of technology.

Veesion AI camera monitoring software helps detect theft without human input. It analyses images coming through each camera, processes them, and assigns probabilities to each action the subject makes. Once the probability of theft exceeds a certain threshold, it can trigger an alert. The system can reduce theft by up to 60%, especially when used with on-floor headset systems.

On the other hand, x-hoppers is the complete retail headset communication system from Wildix for in-store messaging and intelligent retail support. It boosts in-store communication, and staff efficiency, and lets customers enjoy the best service possible, leading to increased sales and customer loyalty.

With the x-hoppers headset solution, all shop employees are connected to one voice channel, so they can tackle in-store tasks as soon as they arise. Check out the x-hoppers website to learn more.

  • Post footage from Veesion software to x-bees conversations

  • All interactions happening during the day over the x-hoppers system will be recorded and posted to x-bees so that they can be consulted and analyzed at any time.

x-caracal - Display of user status message

x-caracal is the light, agile, and integrated contact center analytics tool from Wildix. Learn more here: https://www.wildix.com/product/acd-stats-x-caracal/

In WMS 6.02 we’ve updated the real-time dashboard of x-caracal with the possibility to see not only the agents’ real-time status but also their status messages.

This helps managers and supervisors to get instantly more context and visibility, whether someone is on annual leave or is having a lunch break, for example.

The same information on user status messages can be also viewed in Agent reports.

What to expect from WMS 6.03

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming in WMS 6.03 version: we are adding fully customizable self-service analytics in Wildix Collaboration. With this tool, you can build all kinds of custom reports in no time, using keywords, change the way the data is displayed on graphs, share those reports with your team, and build your own or company-wide dashboards. This analytics provides historical data on company call activity, and soon after the first release, we will add ACLs enabling you to control access to this tool throughout your company.
