This guide describes how to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Salesforce Partner Community.

Introduction

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required to access Salesforce Partner Community, for enhanced security. Follow the instructions below to set up MFA for your account.

MFA setup

Step 1: Enable MFA

  1. Go to the Salesforce Partner Community login page

  2. Enter your credentials and log in

  1. On the Home page, under Update your Security Settings, click Next

  1. Enable the checkbox “I understand that MFA will be required for future logins” (1) and click Enable MFA (2)

Step 2: Choose an Authentication Method

After MFA has been enabled, during the next login you will be prompted to choose a Verification Method:

You can select one of the following MFA methods:

  1. Salesforce Authenticator mobile app (Recommended)

  2. Other Authenticator Apps (e.g. Google Authenticator)

Step 3: Set up Salesforce Authenticator mobile app

You can install Salesforce Authenticator using the following links:

That’s it! You have successfully registered Salesforce Authenticator:

Once you've successfully set up MFA, during further logins the process is the following:

  1. Enter your Username and Password on the Salesforce Partner Community login page

  2. Verification prompt: after entering your credentials, you will be prompted to verify your identity through the Salesforce Authenticator app. A notification will appear on your mobile device.

  1. Approve login request: approve the request on your device by clicking Approve:

  1. Once approved, you are logged into Salesforce Partner Community.

Log in using other Authenticator apps

If you choose to use an alternative authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Authy, the setup process is similar:

  1. Download and install your chosen app

  2. Open the app and scan the QR code displayed during the MFA setup process

  3. Once scanned, the app generates a verification code

  4. Enter the code on the Salesforce Partner Community page to complete the MFA setup

The rest of the login process is the same, and you will receive a notification in the app to approve your login attempts.
