Introduction
This document describes all major stages of a WMS version lifecycle (e.g. End of Development, End of Life, End of Tech Support) and their differences. In short, the a major WMS version passes the following stages:
- Global Availability
- End of Development (end of sales)
- End of Life and End of Tech Support
When globally available, the a WMS version is being further developed, with new features released, bug fixes, as well as performance and security improvements. The other two stages (End of Development and End of Life) are described in detail below.

Note: Subscription-based (aaS) PBXs can be upgraded to a new major WMS version. For LifeTime PBXs, upgrades to newer major WMS versions are not possible. To upgrade LifeTime PBXs, you need to convert them to aaS first. |
End of Development (

EOD)
WMS version is considered End of Development (end of sales) when the next major version is ready to be becomes globally available. While the WMS version is at the End of Development stage and until it is End of Life:
- There still are Only critical bug fixes or and security improvements are delivered.
- No new features are releaseddelivered.
- Wildix team provides support assistancecontinues to provide technical support.
- For subscription-based PBXs, an upgrade to the next major version is arranged automatically:
- Partners are encouraged to do the upgrade by themselves
- Wildix team schedules an update and notifies Partners about the upcoming date (2 months in advance). On the announced date the upgrade is performed automatically if the Partner doesn’t do the upgrade by themselves.
- For LifeTime PBXs, there is a Promo to convert LifeTime to aaSthe subscription model, with the possibility to roll back to a version that is still supported. No automatic upgrade is possible.
End of Life (

EOL) and End of Tech Support (EOTS)
LifeTime PBXs that were not converted to aaS the subscription model during the End of Development stage, become remain with a WMS version that is End of Life.

When a WMS version is End of Life/ End of Tech Support:
- There are no security updates or patches.
- There is no guarantee of Microservices and other services backward compatibility due to third party software updates (e.g. browsers).
- X times support cost
- The service is provided The services provided by the PBX might stop working due to updates of other software (browsers, operating systems, anti-viruses, Wildix Cloud microservices, etc).
- Technical support is no longer provided.
Fees for maintaining the EOL PBX increase incrementally as this WMS version becomes older; the exact amount will be communicated annually to partners.
- The EOL PBX is maintained for as long as the Support maintenance fee is being paid and as long as it is technically possible.
