Introduction
This document describes all major stages of a WMS version lifecycle (e.g. End of Development, End of Life, End of Support) and their differences. In short, the WMS version passes the following stages:
- Global Availability
- End of Development (end of sales)
- End of Life
- End of Support
When globally available, the WMS version is being further developed, with new features released, bug fixes, as well as performance and security improvements. The other two stages (End of Development and End of Life) are described in detail below.
...
WMS version is considered End of Development (end of sales) when the next major version is ready to be globally available. While the WMS version is in at the End of Development stage and until it is End of Life:
- There still are bug fixes or security improvements.
- No new features are released.
- Wildix team provides support assistance.
- For subscription-based PBXs, an upgrade to the next major version is arranged:
- Partners are encouraged to do the upgrade by themselves
- Wildix team schedules an update and notifies Partners about the upcoming date (2 months in advance). On the announced date the upgrade is performed automatically , if the Partner doesn’t do the upgrade by themselves.
- For LifeTime PBXs, there is a Promo to convert LifeTime to aaS, with the possibility to roll back to a version that is still supported. No automatic upgrade is possible.
End of Life (EoL)
LifeTime PBXs that were not converted to aaS during the End of Development stage, become End of Life:
...
